That crazy lace is finished. I so rock:)

Posted by – March 27, 2006

So I finally finished branching out. Not that too many people other than me read this but in the interest of reminding myself of this should I ever get crazy enough choose to do the pattern again, here are my thoughts:
  1. Choose an easily tinked yarn. I made a bad yarn choice and paid for it. Its lovely now but it was a bit sticky with the alpaca. I’d go for something with silk.
  2. Lifelines are your best friend use them often.
  3. If like me, you are a ridiculously tight knitter use an interchangeable set to make those k3tog’s easier.
  4. It is not tv knitting. It can be music knitting but it went fastest when I was just knitting with no distractions. I did not try an audio book.
  5. get a whole hell of alot of blocking pins.
  6. Print out the pattern and just the pattern in a large font with lots of space between the rows so you can easily see where you are and what you are doing.

Obviously this is before I blocked it.

Just as obviously this is after I blocked it.

Anyway…I had some extra money this past week so I got the yarn for that scarf style thing. Hot damn I love touch me but gah is it the worlds most over priced yarn. I also got wick for a scarf for the husband. So I will continue to work on my socks and I will be working on a scarf for the husband. I’m sort of tempted to just do garter stitch since its fast and simple and really its not so much a fashion thing as a utilitarian thing. Plus its tv knitting;) But I’ll have to take a good long look at my stitch dictionaries first. Well I’d best get back to spring cleaning.
