It’s already the 6th?

So this week was pretty freaking good. HWKDD got promoted:) Long over due but very welcome. We’ve been watching movies again which is also veddy veddy nice. Last night we watched “The Full Monty” and tonight we watched an episode of monk and “The Village”. I love watching movies since it gives me knitting time. I had to run errands earlier which is always a big suck but the rest of the weekend is clear. Since some of the yarn I ordered arrived I’m going to try to get some dying done. I’m rather ashamed that I had to invest in yet another storage unit for my yarn. But the undyed stuff is for mosaic so it doesn’t count at all. The only part of the week that sucked was the stress over my grandmother. I just wish there was something I could do.

And the sock turns…

Well progress has been made but nothing picture worthy. I *should* finish the sock by the end of the weekend. Then the only other thing I have to do this week is to rip out that disaster of a bag I started using the K1C2 paintbox. I have nooooo clue what to do with the yarn. Maybe an entrelac scarf? So SNB this week was awesome it had been too long. And I got the most fantastic present ever. My friend Judie gave (yes gave not gifted, that word is my bigged pet peeve of 2006) me the socks she knit out of the yarn I dyed:) The post office also delivered some of the stuff I got with my xmas loot. So I have a few miles of sock yarn to dye. Some of those are strictly for experimental purposes. Anyway my sock is calling.

So like a good girl…I knocked off *two* of my knitting short term goals

I worked on the sleeve of my sweater. I finally caved and switched needles. How did I ever think I liked the denises? Anyway then I measured..DOH I never had ripped back after I realized I would not have enough yarn. And I have thus accomplished my first FO of the year. Well ok it was a minor FO but an FO nevertheless. That thing is so turning into a house sweater. I’d have to reknit the entire thing for it to be anything else. Liked the pattern but the yarn was a bad choice. I should have just quietly given it to someone else when Husband decided he didn’t want it. But nooo I had to go and be all frugal even though even though I’m not quite sure how frugal translates into buying more yarn, but there it is. Now to finish the sock. I would like to cast on for a new project today but really prudence should mean getting the sock fixed so I can work on it at SNB tonight. But it’s just so tempting. The question of course becomes *what* to cast on. I already know I’m going to use some STR for the next socks since I need to decide on their club. Probably the lagoon colorway for grandma since umm its in colors I don’t especially adore. I mean I do like it but its not like my absolute favorite you know? In other less exciting news I did finish untangling some sock yarn which is pretty cool since its been sitting in my knitting basket for oh you know months. So now just the sock, oh to finish the socks and wooly goodness on my feet. Anyway I think my photography is improving since I got the tripod and I read up a bit on photoshop so I will leave you with yarn I got during my travels. The first is from Unravel in Las Cruces. Nice shop I was a bit amazed it was so nice considering LC isn’t that huge of a city. My inlaws were nice enough to take me there. I tried to keep the visit short and sweet considering the boredom factor of a yarn shop to non-knitters.

It was made by LoneSome Stone and the color is called “Shades of Plum” Absolutely amazing work. The other skein worth seeing is one by Dream in Color, the colorway wasn’t on the ball band but I think its Wisterious. It could also be In vino veritas.

I got this at Knitorious in St. Louis. I also picked up a ball of trekking XXL since they were having a sale. They tend to be the shop I hit the most when I’m visiting my mom. Now there is a decent shop even closer and they were very nice so that may change. But for sheer amount of yarn the best I have seen in STL is the weaving dept at the myers house. Their hand dyed sock yarn selection sucked as in it wasn’t even there but for other stuff wow. They have almost too much its sort of a yarn drunk when you walk out of there.

Titles always elude me

So I’ve been pretty productive so far, got some stuff with mosaic done, read a book, done most of the catching up on the house stuff, paid bills, and done some knitting. So why do I feel like a total slacker? I waste so much time on the internets its unreal. The mosaic stuff is going well. Just need a good day to take pictures and stuff. My shop should you care to look is at mosaicyarns.etsy.com. Nothing is listed yet. And one of these days when I feel the site design mojo come back I’ll have one at mosaicyarns.com. I am fairly obsessed with giving it a good go. I *could* end up the next STR, doubtful but well I’ll try. If I don’t try this year I might not ever try you know? Life will get in the way and since this is possibly my last year of hausfrauitude… I will be very sad to leave it. I make an outstanding hausfrau. It also suits me. But we have goals and dreams and I need to contribute to them. So I will. Anyway… I suppose I should finish the clean up from dinner so I can wake up to a clean kitchen. Nothing depresses me more than seeing nasty plates in the AM.

This week I will…

totally finish up my WIPS. I want a clean slate for the new year. I should have done it over the holidaze but with travel etc it was not going to happen. I can finish a sleeve and a sock in a week right? Only problem is I have MORE repair work on the sock. I made the stockinette section after the heel a bit too long but since its only five rows I’m just going to drop the stitches. Seems easier than tinking and such. I sure am getting *good* value out of this yarn *snicker*. As for the next project uhhh more socks probably going to start some STR that way I can tell if I want to shell out for the club. I probably will since I can always sell/trade the yarn if I get stuff I really can not stand. As for my larger more complicated project I’m thinking lady E, another clap, definitely going to bang out my odessa since that will be quick. Also have another hat pattern I want to do and I am going to do a sweater. Probably lucy, since I already have the pattern for it.
